Remodelling the Zentrales Stellwerk using Sketchup Pro 7 and Grasshopper
Building brief description:
The Zentralles Stellwerk tower is a design of the architects Herzog & Meuron and consist in a sign tower for trains supervision. It is located in Basel, Switzerland and it was finished in the year 1997. The building main form characteristic is the facade of sheets of copper and the twist of the tower.
Programs used:
The modelling of the building will be generated with Sketchup pro 7 because of it simplicity to model and transform 3D regular shapes. This program is a good tool to easy solve 3D problems and allow several export extensions to keep working the model in other applications. In the case of this work, the program is useful because it allow to export as a DWG file, which is compatible with other program used in this work: Rhino 4.
To model the facade it will be use the grasshopper plug-in for Rhino 4 because of the fast and easy way to generate the louvers elements throug the components and the possibilities to live edit them. Grasshopper is a graphic algorithm editor integrated with Rhino 3D modelling.

Re-modeling the Central Signal Box Switzerland using Sketchup7 and Rhino4 Grasshopper
Short description of the architecture:Central signal tower
the entire building's skin from the adjacent 20 cm wide copper strips covered by these copper strips are twisted at certain locations to enter the sun, while the copper strips so that allowed their entire Building Open became the Faraday shield. This skin is the architectural form and function of imagery and then to a shift.
Short description of the programs and why:
The softwares which i used rebuild the model
Autocad 2006
Sketchup 7
Grasshopper (Rhino 4.0)
Why i used the above softwares?
Autocad is easier to draw the 2D plans, sections and the elevations though the scaning pictures.
Skechup 7 is used to build the regular, basic and simple floors. It is easier to get the walls from the 2D lines used the pluging-in buttons.
The grasshopper software concentrate on the interesting skin of the model.

Remodeling Eyebeam Institute using Rhino Grasshopper and Autodesk Inventor
EYEBEAM INSTITUTE
The Eyebeam facility in Chelsea will be the city's first institution dedicated exclusively to newmedia art and the largest institution of its kind in the United States, housing an exhibition space,artist-in-residence studios, an education center with multi-media classrooms, a state-of-the artnew media theater, a digital archive, a restaurant, and a bookstore. It will be dedicated toexploring - through the vehicle of new technologies - the connection between science and art.The structure will be approximately 90,000 square feet, rising from a 15,000 square-foot site.Construction is due to begin in 2004.The relationships become more intricate when a loop of ribbon at one level is sheared in half and slipped into alignmentwith a level above or below. The new alignment allows a production space to infiltrate a presentation level or viceversa. The ribbon is two-ply with a technical space sandwiched between layers that houses the building's "nervous"
i choose this two programes because grasshoper is a parametric program. we cancreat a fold paper system by generating . after that the model still need to be edited.so i choose autodesk inventor. this program is good at editing a surface
